In her remote moorland studio, Abigail makes wheel thrown and hand built/hand decorated ceramics. The Dartmoor terrain and flora influence her work. She feels privileged to live in this beautiful area, and to be able to spend her time making carefully hand crafted ceramics.
Abigail has been working as a potter for over a decade, and trained formally before working as an apprentice for a year with a local potter. She makes small batches of ceramics - including tableware - and a smaller number of bespoke pieces.
Abigail fires most of her high fired work in an electric kiln but on occasion use the alternative firing techniques of raku and barrel firing to produce vessels, which although fired to lower temperature, are sealed and functional.
